PrintTalk™ Elects Noosh to the Executive Committee and Appoints Jess Walker to the Position of Marketing Secretary

PrintTalk API Nears Completion

PALO ALTO, CA—August 31, 2000—Noosh, Inc., (www.noosh.com)a leading provider of collaborative, online supply chain solutions today announced that Noosh has been elected to the executive committee of the PrintTalk organization.

PrintTalk is an organization formed to create, implement, and gain rapid and consistent adoption of a freely distributed open standard that will be used to directly communicate data between eCommerce applications and business management systems for the graphic arts industry. PrintTalk formally elected Noosh and 8 other member companies to the executive committee. The role of the executive committee is to drive the future direction of the organization, appoint the marketing and technical chairs and coordinate with other organizations. The marketing secretary is responsible for creating the marketing working group, creating the marketing plan for the organization, develop marketing materials and recruitment of new members to the organization.

"Noosh has been a leading member of the team from the very start," said Steve Hallberg, president of PrintTalk. "The Noosh API was chosen as the basis for the PrintTalk API and Noosh has taken a leadership role in both the technical development and the marketing of the specification."

"One of the key concerns of printers today is how to integrate their management systems with the different ecommerce offerings available today. " said Dave Hannebrink vice president of marketing and business development, Noosh, Inc." No single company can do what this organization has done - create a broadly adopted, quickly deployed interface for communication between many different ecommerce vendors and a printer's management system."

Printers today are faced with the prospect of using different ecommerce applications for different sets of customers. Without a common data interface, manual data entry is required to execute their request for quotes. Noosh, together with 17 other leading vendors in ecommerce and print management, have formed PrintTalk to solve this basic problem. PrintTalk has focused on creating the specification for communicating directly between the internet-based applications and printer's management systems.

"Because we have so many sites and so many different types of equipment, Consolidated Graphics depends on industry standards to simplify integration projects." said Charles White, President and COO of Consolidated Graphics. "The PrintTalk standard sounds like exactly what printers need to manage the data exchange between Noosh, Consolidated's choice among E commerce vendors, and the print management systems deployed throughout our company."

The PrintTalk specification is near completion and will be publicly available within two months through the NPES, the Association for Suppliers of Printing, Publishing and converting technologies. The NPES (www.NPES.org) is acting as the administrative body for publishing the PrintTalk specification.

About Print Talk
PrintTalk (www.printtalk.org) is a community formed by print management systems and e-commerce companies to define a "best practice" common and open communications interface between their products. The PrintTalk implementation will support use of the broadly published, proposed Job Definition Format (JDF) standard and Commercial eXtensible Markup Language (cXML). As part of the group's activities, it will seek to have its work recognized as an implementation of the proposed JDF standard. The PrintTalk interface specification will be distributed free of any license fees or royalties, in order to address the need for end-to-end connectivity in the printing industry. NPES serves as secretariat to PrintTalk.
